Bruce heads to Europe to unveil the final cut of CAS'L' in 5 guest appearances in 12 days.

He will be attending festivals in Brussels, London, Rotterdam, Bordeaux, finishing up in Paris.

CAS'L' is complete with dedicated soundtrack (gory foleys & all) & ready for public consumption! If you can attend any of the festivals, this film has been 20 years in the making & well worth the effort to get yourself present. Stop by after the movie and shake Bruce's hand!

The long-awaited DVD of CAS'L' will finally see the light of laserbeam before long. Upon returning home, Bruce plans to focus on preparing the DVD master.

Keep your eyes peeled!

(^ been a bit of a stir lately.  first portland next this:

http://www.silentmovietheatre.com/calendar/events.html

8/24 @ 7:30 & 9:30pm
Frank Zappa's The Amazing Mr. Bickford
The title is not an exaggeration. Bruce Bickford's art--a hallucinatory stop-motion amalgamation of Peter Pan, Ray Harryhausen, and The Wild Bunch--is nothing short of amazing. Frank Zappa first used the incredible talents of self-taught claymation wizard Bickford as visual companions to
his music in the film Baby Snakes, and continued this collaboration in The Amazing Mr. Bickford. On the film's original VHS cover, Zappa exclaimed, "Bruce Bickford is a genius!...Few other home video products can compare with the years of effort and attention to detail contained in less than an hour of The Amazing Mr. Bickford. It is a show that will be watched again and again, freeze-framed, and gasped at for years to come." Bruce Bickford will be in attendance for a Q&A after this incredibly rare screening.
Dirs. Bruce Bickford & Frank Zappa, 1987, digital presentation, 60 min.
Tickets - $14/ $10 for members

7:30pm

9:30pm

8/26 @ 8pm
Cas'l and Other Unreleased Bruce Bickford Films
While the greater mass of animator Bruce Bickford's work seen by the public consists of the films he made while working for Frank Zappa, he never stopped working, either before or after his employ. We will screen some of Bruce's early Super-8 experiments as a teenager, as well as his unfinished 45-minute opus Cas'l, the inspired result of years of solitary work, featuring a live score by The Gaslamp Killer. Also, Bickford will perform on of his "blues raps", with musical accompaniment by Gerry
Fialka.
Tickets - $14/ $10 for members

After posing the question to gail...

This was her reply, I know I will be impatiently waiting.....

"No reason not to release it - just time, timing and budget concerns. I have to say that it has not made it to the top of my list of priorities. My preference is to do Roxy first - especially if I have to finance it on my own. I t is important to me to make sure that all of FZ's projects are out there ultimately but it is not as if they are all lined up ready and waiting to drop out of the chute. Each requires some particular consideration of its own and it s usually expensive."

(^ but finally, now at last: on a big screen: 2 showings, with MR.B THERE...

This seems like a cause Paul Allen could get behind,..  he has thrown money at some other very cool things.  If anyone can find a way to his heart please try!
